Installation

Batteries
NGH Power Systems can expertly design, equip and install industrial battery products. Our highly trained staff have over 200 years of combined experience in the installation, de-installation, and disposal of any system from -48 volt PBX switch to large data center applications.
Monitoring Systems
NGH Power Systems trained personnel can provide installation of leak detection for data centers, hydrogen detectors for battery rooms, environmental monitors for your server rack enclosures and remote alarm monitors to communicate site status to your national operation center (NOC). Staff training and thorough documentation accompany these systems.
Power Infrastructure
DC power plants, UPS (uninterruptible power supply), data center racks, switches, distribution cabinets and cables are among the products we routinely provide. Whether a new installation, upgrade, or “hot slide”, NGH will provide a solution on-time and on-budget.

Testing
Power Plant and Battery Capacity Testing
Battery capacity testing is the only accurate method to evaluate how well your battery back-up system will support your critical load during a power outage.
NGH Power Systems performs hundreds of battery capacity tests per year for Utility, Telecommunication and Data Center clients all over the Southwest.
Our expert technicians use state-of-the-art computerized test equipment. When performed with your power plant (DC rectifiers or UPS) on-line, the test will verify electronics performance and alarm operation. Upon completion of testing, NGH provides a detailed, computerized report and analysis.
Benefits:
• Ensure reliable backup power
• Protect equipment and critical services
• Locate weak cells and faulty inter-cell connectors
• Use data analysis of batteries to validate warranty claims
• Perform testing per IEEE and customer’s standards
Harmonics and Power Quality Testing
Our testing in this area includes adjustable speed drives, electronic ballasts, data processing equipment and uninterruptible power supplies that generate harmonic current. Harmonic currents travel on the outer edge of electrical conductors and can cause a build-up of heat to occur. At the same time, there may be surges or spikes in the systems, which can cause circuit breakers to trip and power usage to increase. Likewise, premature failure of motors, transformers and other electrical components can occur.
NGH Power Systems has designed a comprehensive survey to help you identify the source of any electrical problems. This survey includes an evaluation of the voltage, current flow, power factor, power consumption and harmonics. Once we have analyzed the test results, our specialist advisors will recommend the best solution for your facility.
Infrared Thermography Testing
Infrared Thermography is the use of an infrared camera or detection device to “see” and “measure” thermal energy emitted from an object. Nearly all electrical and most mechanical devices “heat up” before a failure. This precise non-contact measurement of objects allow NGH to find higher than normal temperatures and investigate the causes before costly failures can occur.

Locating and repairing a poor electrical connection before a component fails can prevent:
• Manufacturing downtime
• Production losses
• Power outages
• Fires
• Catastrophic failures
• Life-threatening circumstances

Maintenance / Repair
Battery Maintenance
Regular battery maintenance ensures reliable performance of your battery back-up systems. The IEEE Standards Battery Working Group recommends that batteries be tested monthly to guarantee optimal performance. All battery manufacturers require routine maintenance to guarantee and enforce a warranty.
Our team of experienced technicians are trained to collect, analyze and interpret data. We have the necessary equipment to perform maintenance of flooded cell, valve-regulated (VRLA) and gel batteries. NGH provides computerized report generation and archiving for trending and analysis.
In addition to routine maintenance, NGH can provide the following services:
• Single battery replacements
• Complete battery systems replacements
• Battery capacity testing
• Single cell charging
Grounding Telecommunication Grounding Audits and Repairs
Many telecommunications grounding standards are not met during initial installation, or have changed over time. High ground resistance can result in serious problems, such as intermittent equipment failure, high error rates and unsafe conditions for personnel.
NGH Power Systems is committed to protecting your equipment and personnel from lightning or over-voltage conditions. Our grounding audits can be customized to your standards in compliance with NEC, OSHA, IEEE, NFPA and other electrical safety standards. During the audit, we will inspect all grounding systems, inside and out, from exothermic welds on the ground ring, to the lugged connections on the site equipment.
NGH Power Systems is a full service telecommunications grounding company. After the audit is complete, experienced technicians can return to repair any problems or deficiencies found.
